Preview: Pine Hill Warriors vs. Northwest Falcons
Pine Hill is 8-2 against Northwest since February of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Pine Hill Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the Northwest Falcons at 6:30 p.m. Northwest took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Pine Hill, who comes in off a win.
Cliff typically has all the answers at home, but on Saturday Pine Hill proved too difficult a challenge. They strolled past the Cowboys/Cowgirls with points to spare, taking the game 56-42.
It was another big night for Brett Baker, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Channing James, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and five assists.
Meanwhile, Northwest's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their eighth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Coronado, falling 65-32. Northwest has struggled against Coronado recently, as their contest on Saturday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Pine Hill pushed their record up to 9-8 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.7 points per game. As for Northwest, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-12.
Everything came up roses for Pine Hill against Northwest when the teams last played back in February of 2023 as the squad secured a 81-27 victory. Does Pine Hill have another victory up their sleeve, or will Northwest turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
