Baseball Recap: Guilford Comes Up Short

Harlem hit Guilford with a five-run sixth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Vikings came up short against the Huskies, falling 12-3. The Vikings were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Huskies earlier this season, when they won 7-2.

Guilford saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Riley Kegley, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI. Kegley has become a key player for the Vikings: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least three hits, but 5-6 otherwise.

Guilford has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-7 record this season. As for Harlem, they moved to 13-11 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Looking ahead, Guilford will face off against Hononegah at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Harlem, they will take on Rockford East at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Huskies are facing the E-Rabs at the right time seeing as the E-Rabs are stuck on a ten-game losing streak.
