Kenwood was handed a 14-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Thursday. They skirted past the Western Tech & Environmental Science Wolverines 3-2. For the Bluebirds, this counts as revenge for the 10-6 win the Wolverines walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Dominic Zorilla made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Zorilla was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs.

Zorilla wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kyle Rineman, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Kenwood's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-8. As for Western Tech & Environmental Science, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-6.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Wolverines beat Kenwood by a score of 13-2 later that day.
