Basketball Game Preview: Myrtle Hawks vs. Jumpertown Cardinals

Myrtle and Jumpertown are an even 4-4 against one another since February of 2015, but not for long. The Myrtle Hawks will take on the Jumpertown Cardinals at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Myrtle has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Last Tuesday, Myrtle didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Pine Grove, but they still walked away with a 60-56 victory. That's two games straight that the Hawks have won by exactly four points.

Meanwhile, Jumpertown came tearing into Friday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Wildcats 76-25. That looming 76-25 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Cardinals yet this season.

Jumpertown's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-10. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.0 points per game. As for Myrtle, their victory bumped their record up to 10-16.

Myrtle was taken down by Jumpertown 68-33 in their previous meeting last Tuesday. Can Myrtle avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
