Volleyball Recap: Adams City Victorious

Adams City won the last time they faced Jefferson and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Eagles walked away with a 3-1 win over the Saints.

Adams City had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 28-26, 25-18, 25-23.

Several Saints players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mariana Botello, who had 14 assists and five aces. The team also got some help courtesy of Avoni Sauzo, who had nine kills, three digs, and two aces.

The victory got Adams City back to even at 1-1.

Coming up, Adams City will take on Smoky Hill in a tournament on Friday. As for Jefferson, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will take on Wheat Ridge at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
