Softball Recap: Houston Christian Comes Up Short

If Houston Christian was feeling good fresh off their 16-1 takedown of First Baptist Christian last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mustangs lost 14-3 to the Episcopal Knights on Wednesday. The Mustangs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Houston Christian saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Yazmine Johnson, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

Houston Christian's loss dropped their record down to 15-10. As for Episcopal, they pushed their record up to 17-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Houston Christian will welcome Concordia Lutheran at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Episcopal, they will be playing at home against Lutheran South Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
