Baseball Recap: Conwell-Egan Catholic Victorious

The matchup between Conwell-Egan Catholic and Lansdale Catholic on Wednesday hardly resembled the 1-0 effort from their previous meeting. Conwell-Egan Catholic came out on top against Lansdale Catholic by a score of 13-9. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Eagles' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Brady Guzzie made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Guzzie was even better at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sean McGovern, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Tommy KaliTa, who went 3-for-4 with one RBI.

Conwell-Egan Catholic hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lansdale Catholic struck out 12 times.

Conwell-Egan Catholic's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Lansdale Catholic, they dropped their record down to 0-2 with the defeat, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.
