Baseball Recap: Bentworth Beats Albert Gallatin for Their Third Straight Win

Bentworth had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They walked away with an 8-4 victory over the Albert Gallatin Colonials. The Bearcats have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Colonials, too.

Jacob Cavanaugh was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs and two stolen bases. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cameron Krejci, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI.

Bentworth's record is now 7-10. As for Albert Gallatin, their defeat was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-17.

Coming up, Bentworth will take on Sto-Rox at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Vikings have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 17.65 runs per game on average), something the Bearcats will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Albert Gallatin, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 7-5 loss against Brownsville on the 5th.
