McMinnville dropped their record down to 18-5 on Friday, which also ended the team's nine-game streak of wins. They lost 10-2 to the Sherwood Bowmen. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Grizzlies have suffered since April 10th.

As for Sherwood, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season. The result was nothing new for Sherwood, who have now won nine games by seven runs or more so far this season.

For Sherwood's part, they got a massive performance out of Sam Hunt, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave Hunt a new career-high. Gavyn Murphy was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

McMinnville and Sherwood should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Oregon Rankings. The Grizzlies (ranked 19th) will meet Glencoe (ranked 106th) at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Sherwood will challenge Liberty at 5:00 p.m. on Monday with a big rank advantage (12 vs. 141).
