Preview: Lubbock-Cooper vs. Coronado
Lubbock-Cooper is 10-0 against Coronado since March of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Lubbock-Cooper Pirates will head out on the road to face off against the Coronado Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. Lubbock-Cooper is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
On Tuesday, Lubbock-Cooper earned a 3-1 victory over Lubbock.
Lubbock-Cooper was led to victory by the tag-team duo of
Malachi Ramirez and
Luis Ibarra, who scored all three of Lubbock-Cooper's goals. The pair have combined for a total of five so far this season.
Meanwhile, after soaring to five goals the game before, Coronado were a bit more limited in their game last Tuesday. Their tough 5-0 loss to Monterey might stick with them for a while.
Lubbock-Cooper's victory bumped their record up to 10-3-2. As for Coronado, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.
Lubbock-Cooper took their victory against Coronado in their previous meeting back in March of 2023 by a conclusive 5-0. Will Lubbock-Cooper repeat their success, or does Coronado have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
