Melbourne had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They never let the Mountain View Yellowjackets get on the board and left with a 12-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Bearkatz, who have now won 15 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Melbourne pushed their record up to 17-2 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Mountain View, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-12 record.
