Volleyball Recap: Newark Memorial's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Four + How To Watch

Newark Memorial had already won three in a row and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Hayward Farmers with a sharp 3-0 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Cougars also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2024.

While Newark Memorial won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-23, 25-17.

Erin Santos paced Newark Memorial's offense, picking up 11 kills. Santos got some help from Gianna Adame and her 24 assists. Santos also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Stephanie Smith, racking up three apiece.

Newark Memorial's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Hayward, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Newark Memorial will face off against Tennyson at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Hayward, they will take on Piedmont at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday.
