Basketball Recap: Utopian Academy for the Arts Starts Season with Win Against Atlanta Area School for the Deaf

Utopian Academy for the Arts gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They breezed past the Atlanta Area School for the Deaf Panthers to the tune of 100-10.

Utopian Academy for the Arts' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jace Franklin, who shot 71% from the field en route to 24 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Those 24 points gave Franklin a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Quevion Johnson, who went 8-for-11 to rack up 17 points in addition to seven assists and seven steals.

Utopian Academy for the Arts wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 57-56 victory against Dominion Christian on the 11th. As for Atlanta Area School for the Deaf, they will take on Alabama School for the Deaf in a tournament on Saturday.
