Basketball Recap: Heritage Classical Christian Academy Snaps Six-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

They fell 70-61 to the Westwood Baptist Academy Eagles. The Hawks have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.

Perhaps the best among them was Trip Taylor, who went 6 for 11 from beyond the arc on his way to 29 points in addition to five boards and five steals. The matchup was Taylor's eighth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Heskett, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.

Westwood Baptist Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Robbie Dodd led the charge by going 6 of 12 en route to 17 points along with eight assists and eight steals. The dominant performance gave Dodd a new career-high in steals. Caleb Smith also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Heritage Classical Christian Academy's defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 12-2. As for Westwood Baptist Academy, they pushed their record up to 12-5 with the win, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season.
