Baseball Recap: Carlson Takes a Loss

Carlson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 9-8 heartbreaker at the hands of the Airport Jets. Even though they lost, the Marauders' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.2 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Matthew MacBride was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-5 with three RBI and two runs. Carlson is 6-2 when MacBride posts two or more runs, but 10-14 otherwise. Joseph Krolak was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Carlson's defeat dropped their record down to 16-16. As for Airport, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-15.

While Carlson had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
