River and Frontier are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2021, but not for long. The Pilots will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cougars at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

River came up short against Shenandoah on Friday, falling 57-33. While losing is never fun, the Pilots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 431st, while the Zeps are ranked 61st).

Meanwhile, Frontier lost 49-27 to Belpre on Thursday. The matchup marked the Cougars' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Frontier has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-6 record this season. As for River, their loss dropped their record down to 7-10.

River and Frontier were neck-and-neck in their previous meeting back in December of 2025, but River came up empty-handed after a 37-36 defeat. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Cougars' Anna Bowersock, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and ten rebounds.
