Football Game Preview: The Pingry School Big Blue vs. Morristown-Beard Crimson

The Pingry School Big Blue will take on the Morristown-Beard Crimson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

The Pingry School's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They blew past Horace Mann 35-0. That 35 point margin sets a new team best for the Big Blue this season.

The Pingry School's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Ryan Moye, who threw for 198 yards and four TDs, and Oscar Irwin, who gained 129 total yards and two touchdowns. Moye has become a key player for the Big Blue: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three passing touchdowns, but 0-3 otherwise. Alex Finkelstein was another key player, picking up 92 receiving yards and one touchdown.

The Pingry School didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Ben Britain, Sam Nkansah, and Isaiah Flanagan picked up one apiece.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Morristown-Beard, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They blew past King, posting a 47-12 victory. The result was nothing new for the Crimson, who have now won four games by 23 points or more so far this season.

Morristown-Beard pushed their record up to 5-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 32.3 points over those games. As for The Pingry School, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

The Pingry School was able to grind out a solid victory over Morristown-Beard in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, winning 28-15. Do the Big Blue have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Crimson turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
