Recap: Adams Central Patriots vs. Minden Whippets
After a string of six wins, the Adams Central Patriots's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They lost to Minden at home by a decisive 61-42 margin. Adams Central was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Minden apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Minden got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kinsie Land out in front who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 13 rebounds. Land is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Mattie Kamery, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds.
Adams Central's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-4. As for Minden, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Adams Central will stay at home for another game and welcome Lexington at 5:00 p.m. on February 8th. Adams Central is facing Lexington at the right time seeing as Lexington is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Minden, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Wood River on Thursday. Hopefully Minden focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Tuesday.
