Baseball Recap: Iroquois Takes a Loss

Iroquois was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat dating back to last season. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 11-1 to the Mercer Mustangs, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

Iroquois saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jayden Hadlock, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base. Ethan Alderson also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Iroquois' loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Mercer, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Iroquois will welcome Union at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Mercer, they will face off against Wilmington at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Mustangs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Greyhounds have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season.
