Basketball Game Preview: Tupelo Tigers vs. Wapanucka Indians

Tupelo has gone 7-1 against Wapanucka recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Tupelo Tigers will host the Wapanucka Indians at 8:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Tupelo's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Wapanucka has been banged up by seven consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.

Tupelo easily dispatched Milburn back in December of 2024, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. Tupelo fell just short of Stratford by a score of 47-45 on Tuesday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Tigers came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 101st, while the Bulldogs are ranked 257th).

Meanwhile, Wapanucka had to suffer through a 73-15 loss at the hands of Calvin.

Tupelo's defeat dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Wapanucka, their loss dropped their record down to 0-10.

Everything came up roses for Tupelo against Wapanucka in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, as the team secured a 68-37 win. Does Tupelo have another victory up their sleeve, or will Wapanucka turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
