Basketball Recap: Chattahoochee Takes a Loss

Chattahoochee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a blow against the Roswell Hornets, falling 60-33. The Cougars were not able to make up for their loss to the Hornets from their previous meeting back in November of 2018.

Chattahoochee's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mayisha Kimoto, who posted five points and 13 boards. The dominant performance gave Kimoto a new career-high in rebounds. Another player making a difference was Loren Withrite, who earned 12 points.

Even though they lost, Chattahoochee smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in seven consecutive matches.

Chattahoochee's loss dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Roswell, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-9.

Chattahoochee will be playing in front of their home fans against Johns Creek at 6:00 p.m. on January 17th. As for Roswell, they will venture away from home to challenge Lanier at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
