Softball Recap: Williamstown Comes Up Short

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Williamstown and Doddridge County have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Thursday. The Yellowjackets lost 13-4 to the Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 18-2 back in March.

Shayle Montgomery was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3.

Williamstown's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Doddridge County, they pushed their record up to 13-1 with the victory, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Williamstown will take on Ontario at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Doddridge County, they will head out on the road to face off against Lincoln at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
