Basketball Recap: Midview Starts Season with Win Against Vermilion

Midview took care of business in their home opener on Wednesday. They walked away with a 53-43 win over the Vermilion Sailors. The Middies haven't had any issues with the Sailors recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Midview to victory, but perhaps none more so than Leila Morgan, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 16 boards. That's the most points Morgan has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Leah DiFranco, who went 8-for-12 to rack up 19 points and six rebounds.

Vermilion now has a losing record of 1-2.

Midview and Vermilion will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Middies are set to take on their familiar foe Olmsted Falls at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Vermilion will square off against rival Edison at 7:00 p.m. on December 5.
