Basketball Recap: Carson Colts vs. Sotomayor Wolves
Carson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 62-61 heartbreaker at the hands of the Sotomayor Wolves.
Sotomayor had a senior duo take command as Bryan Hernandez went 6 of 14 en route to 20 points in addition to eight assists and six boards and Adrian Camacho dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. The matchup was Hernandez's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jorge Penaloza, who posted 15 points.
Carson's loss dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Sotomayor, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-10.
Carson wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 52-42 defeat against Narbonne on the 22nd. As for Sotomayor, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 69-48 loss against Pacifica Christian/Santa Monica on the 20th.
