Baseball Recap: Southside Comes Up Short

Southside came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 15-0 to the Greene Central Rams. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Seahawks' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Southside's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Greene Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season.

Southside will be playing at home against Lejeune at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Devil Pups have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.1 runs per game on average), something the Seahawks will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Greene Central, they will venture away from home to square off against West Craven at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
