Softball Recap: Longmeadow Takes a Loss

Longmeadow lost against East Longmeadow on April 4th, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Lancers lost 10-3 to the Spartans. The Lancers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Longmeadow saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Livia Kelly, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Sofia Gordon also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Longmeadow's record now sits at 6-5. As for East Longmeadow, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Longmeadow will challenge rival Easthampton at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, East Longmeadow is set to face off against their familiar foe Monson at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
