Recap: Tenaha Tigers vs. Mt. Enterprise Wildcats
The Tenaha Tigers had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.3 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Mt. Enterprise 36-34. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Tenaha got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kamarion Ross out in front who rushed for 72 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries. Dj Cooks was in the mix as well, providing Tenaha with two touchdowns.
Despite the loss, Mt. Enterprise saw an underclassman step up: Kaegan Ash rushed for 318 yards and five touchdowns. Ash is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last eight games he's played.
Tenaha's victory was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 7-2. Admittedly, the team didn't face the toughest opposition across those games, namely Mt. Enterprise, Alto, and Carlisle. As for Mt. Enterprise, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.
Tenaha will be playing at home against Overton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Overton will be coming into the match with an undefeated record on the line. As for Mt. Enterprise, they will head out on the road to face off against Cushing at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
