Baseball Game Preview: Western Warriors vs. Eldorado Sundevils

For the second straight game, Western will face off against Eldorado. The Warriors will face off against the Sundevils at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Western is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.

While Western's win against Eldorado wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Warriors had just enough and edged out the Sundevils 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Warriors have posted since March 7, 2025.

Edgar Garcia made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits (and only one walk). He is becoming a predictor of Western's success: when he posts at least eight strikeouts the team is 4-1 (and 4-10 when he doesn't). Garcia was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times he's played.

In other batting news, Adrian Diaz was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Daniel Garcia Tapia, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI.

Eldorado's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Western, the win snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 8-11 record.
