Softball Recap: Hobbs Beats Los Lunas for Their Third Straight Victory

Hobbs entered their tilt with Los Lunas on Saturday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Los Lunas Tigers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 11-5 on Saturday.

Ailea Trevizo spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on six hits.

On the hitting side, Edyth Chavez was excellent, scoring a run while going 1-for-3. Angel Jimenez also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Hobbs pushed their record up to 4-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Los Lunas, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hobbs will face off against Lovington at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Los Lunas, they will square off against Volcano Vista at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Volcano Vista has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.67 runs per game on average), something Los Lunas will no doubt try to take advantage of.
