Softball Game Preview: Grosse Ile Devils vs. Flat Rock Rams

Grosse Ile hasn't had much luck against Flat Rock recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Devils are taking a road trip to face off against the Rams at 4:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Grosse Ile couldn't beat Milan on Thursday even though they stacked nine runs on them in the first inning. The Devils lost 20-10 to the Big Reds.

Mayve McGowan and Molly McNamee stepped up to the plate in a big way. McGowan went 1-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double, while McNamee went 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia McCarthy, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Flat Rock hadn't beaten Woodhaven on the road since May 5, 2018 but that history sure didn't bother them on Saturday. The Rams sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 14-12 win over the Warriors. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Rams have posted since May 18, 2025.

Flat Rock now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Grosse Ile, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.

Grosse Ile suffered a grim 12-2 defeat to Flat Rock in their previous matchup back in May of 2025. Can the Devils avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
