Not much got past Abby Edwards, who gave up just six hits and racked up nine Ks to keep Inglemoor off the board. Edwards has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Snohomish's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Amelie Lopez, who went 1-for-3 with one triple.
Enumclaw typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Liberty proved too difficult a challenge. They put the hurt on the Hornets with a sharp 6-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Patriots, who have now won nine matches by six runs or more so far this season.
Avery Huh made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out 17 over seven innings pitched. Huh was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
In other batting news, Liberty let Isabella Rockey and Kaila Siu run wild. Rockey went a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double, while Siu went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles. That's the most stolen bases Siu has posted since back in April.
Snohomish pushed their record up to 16-5 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.1 runs over those games. As for Liberty, their win bumped their record up to 19-9.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Saturday. Snohomish hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like Liberty struggles in that department as they've been averaging 1 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
