Baseball Recap: Leo Takes a Loss

Leo entered their matchup against Brother Rice on Monday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Lions lost 22-2 to the Crusaders. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Lions of the 20-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Leo saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Derrick Davis III, who scored a run while going 2-for-2. Davis III also put up two doubles, which were his first of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Leo and nudges their season record down to 5-5-1. As for Brother Rice, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 6-1.

Coming up, Leo is taking a road trip to challenge Providence Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Celtics' pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so the Lions' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Brother Rice, they will host Fenwick at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
