If Libertyville was feeling good fresh off their 8-1 takedown of Carmel on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wildcats fell just short of the Grayslake Central Rams by a score of 6-4 on Saturday. The Wildcats' loss signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

Libertyville got a good showing from Anthony Fry, who tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Fry has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Ryan Wilberding and Carson Holmes did some serious damage despite the final result: Wilberding went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI, while Holmes went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Libertyville's defeat dropped their record down to 24-3. As for Grayslake Central, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-5 record this season.

Libertyville will head out on the road to challenge Lake Forest at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Grayslake Central, they will host Wauconda at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Rams surely won't give up without a fight.
