Basketball Recap: Jay Comes Up Short

Jay suffered their closest defeat since November 21, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of Memorial by a score of 51-48. Jay's loss continues a trend for the team, making it six in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Jay lost, don't look at Alijah Hubbard. Despite the final result, he shot 43% from the field on his way to 25 points and five boards. Christopher Balderas was another key player, putting up six points.

Jay's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Memorial, the win got them back to even at 5-5.

Looking ahead, Jay will head out to take on Pieper at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Memorial, they will be playing at home against Aldine at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
