Baseball Recap: Maricopa Takes a Loss

Maricopa was the 7-4 winner over ALA - Gilbert North when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Maricopa Rams lost 11-5 to the ALA - Gilbert North Eagles on Thursday.

Maricopa saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Travis Varela, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-4. Another was Brady McMullen, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Maricopa's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for ALA - Gilbert North, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Coming up, Maricopa will square off against Apache Junction at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for ALA - Gilbert North, they will take on Williams Field at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
