Recap: Calhoun Yellow Jackets vs. South Paulding Spartans
The Calhoun Yellow Jackets kicked off their season on the road on Thursday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell just short of South Paulding by a score of 74-71. Calhoun has not had much luck with South Paulding recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Calhoun's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Emaree Winston, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 22 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Landon Chattam, who scored 19 points along with 7 rebounds.
Calhoun's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for South Paulding, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Calhoun will head out on the road to face off against Harrison at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for South Paulding, they will square off against Christian Heritage at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
