Nokomis had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29.7 points) and they went ahead and made it seven on Saturday. They enjoyed a cozy 57-38 win over the Granite City Warriors. Given the Redskins' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 147th, while the Warriors are ranked 434th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Nokomis to victory, but perhaps none more so than Natalie Brownback, who went 6 for 15 en route to 16 points and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kinley Stolte, who posted ten points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

Nokomis is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 20-3 record this season. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy: their three-point shooting accuracy was 32.3% in those games and 30.6% outside of them. As for Granite City, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-14.

Nokomis has already played their next game (against Sangamon Valley/Tri-City), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Granite City will take on Greenfield/Northwestern in a tournament on Monday.
