Basketball Recap: Arvin's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Friday

Arvin suffered their biggest loss since December 26, 2024 on Friday. They lost 55-35 to the North Stars. The Bears' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

When it comes to explaining why Arvin lost, don't look at Mariana Soto. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 13 points and 19 rebounds. Those 13 points gave Soto a new career-high. Kimberly Ochoa was another key player, putting up nine points and six steals.

Even though they lost, Arvin smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive rebounds in six consecutive contests.

Arvin's loss dropped their record down to 10-12. As for North, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 12-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Arvin will face off against Del Oro at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for North, they will square off against Tehachapi at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
