Baseball Recap: Lake Forest Wins Going Away Against Lake Forest Academy

Lake Forest won the last time they faced Lake Forest Academy and things went their way on Saturday too. The Scouts blew past the Caxys 13-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Scouts.

Patrick Walsh tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Lake Forest is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 5-11 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Luke Pasquesi, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Lake Forest is 2-1 when Pasquesi posts two or more runs, but 5-11 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Stephen Cole, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.

Lake Forest kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive matchups.

Lake Forest's record is now 7-12. As for Lake Forest Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.

Lake Forest and Lake Forest Academy could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Scouts will challenge Stevenson at 4:45 p.m. on Monday with a big rank disadvantage (353 vs. 163). Meanwhile, Lake Forest Academy (ranked 594th) will meet Latin (ranked 211th) at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
