Soccer Game Preview: Edison vs. Canyon

The Edison Chargers will head out on the road to challenge the Canyon Comanches at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Edison is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games.

Edison is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 4-1 margin over Moorpark. Considering the Chargers have won eight games by more than two goals this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Canyon won against Poly on Thursday with three goals and they decided to stick to that goal total again on Saturday. Canyon skirted past Kaiser 3-2. Given the Comanches' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 42nd, while the Cats are ranked 199th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Canyon is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 18 goals over those six contests. As for Edison, their record is now 14-4.

Edison came up short against Canyon when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 2-0. Can Edison avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
