Softball Recap: Anderson County Comes Up Short

Anderson County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 15th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wellsville Eagles. If the Bulldogs were looking for revenge after losing 4-3 to the Eagles when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Maura Rockers spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Anderson County saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ava Mills, who went 2-for-3 with one double. That double marked the first that Mills has hit this season.

Anderson County's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Wellsville, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-5.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Eagles beat Anderson County by a score of 8-2 later that day.
