Volleyball Recap: Katryn Evans Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Britton-Hecla

There's no place like home for Redfield, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Britton-Hecla Braves on Thursday. For the Pheasants, this counts as revenge for the 3-0 victory the Braves walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

Redfield got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 33-35, 25-19, 25-17.

Redfield got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Katryn Evans out in front who had 28 digs. That's the most digs Evans has posted over her last six contests. Another player making a difference was Mady Morrissette, who had 15 digs and two aces.

Britton-Hecla's loss came despite strong showings from Ava Teveldal and Airiana Buer. Teveldal had 37 digs and two assists, while Buer had ten digs and two aces. Teveldal has been hot recently, having posted 23 or more digs the last three times she's played.

Redfield is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. As for Britton-Hecla, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Redfield will head out to square off against Miller at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Britton-Hecla, they will face off against Waverly/South Shore at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
