Lubbock-Cooper and Amarillo are an even 4-4-1 against one another since January of 2018, but likely not for long. The Lubbock-Cooper Pirates are taking a road trip to square off against the Amarillo Sandies at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Lubbock-Cooper is headed into Tuesday's matchup hungry for a win as their strong season has now been derailed by two straight defeats. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of Monterey. That's two games in a row now that the Pirates have lost by just one goal.

Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Amarillo's offense. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Monterey on Wednesday. The Sandies haven't had much luck with the Plainsmen recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Lubbock-Cooper's loss dropped their record down to 12-5-3. As for Amarillo, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-8-2.

Lubbock-Cooper beat Amarillo by a goal in their previous meeting back in February, winning 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lubbock-Cooper since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
