Basketball Game Preview: Central Falcons vs. Fairmont Heights Hornets

The Central Falcons will square off against the Fairmont Heights Hornets on Monday. Fairmont Heights took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Central, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with 15 losses in a row dating back to last season, Central turned things around against Chesapeake Math & IT Academy South on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Tigers, sneaking past 70-67. The Falcons' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, Fairmont Heights entered their game against Largo on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Fairmont Heights took a 79-67 hit to the loss column at the hands of Largo.

Fairmont Heights' defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 8-2. As for Central, their victory ended an 11-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-8.

Central lost to Fairmont Heights on the road by a decisive 70-56 margin in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Can Central avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
