The Wesson Cobras will venture away from home to challenge the Amite County Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Wesson will come into the game with an undefeated record on the line.
Wesson is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They walked away with a 49-41 victory over Loyd Star on Friday. The score was all tied up 19-19 at the break, but the Cobras were the better team in the second half.

Damarion Smith had an outrageously good game as he picked up 111 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. Wesley Loy also helped out with an impressive 100 receiving yards.
Wesson didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Loyd Star to a completion percentage of just 42.1%. The team can thank Brandon Hutt for the heroic effort on defense: he. Wesson has been improving in that area: they had allowed a completion percentage of 0.59 earlier this season, but they've only allowed one of 0.59 in their last three games.
Meanwhile, Amite County earned a 20-8 win over Wilkinson County on Friday. The Trojans haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Wesson better focus on containing Kemauri Thompson and Marquavius McGhee as the pair were huge in Amite County's win. Thompson rushed for 74 yards and one score on only nine carries, while McGhee rushed for 81 yards and one TD.
Amite County didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Keyonte Cobb, Rajuan Clark Jr, Jakaden Abrams, and Shemar Anderson picked up one apiece. Anderson got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Wesson's record now sits at 7-0. As for Amite County, their record is now 5-1.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Wesson has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 174.6 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Amite County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 281.5 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
