Baseball Recap: Maine West Comes Up Short

Maine West suffered their closest loss since April 22nd on Saturday. They fell just short of the Payton College Prep Grizzlies by a score of 12-10.

Tommy Kulesza made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Maine West is 3-1 when Kulesza posts two or more runs, but 5-18-1 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Julian Delao, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Maine West has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-19-1 record this season. As for Payton College Prep, their win bumped their record up to 14-18.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Maine West will venture away from home to face off against Wheeling at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Payton College Prep, they will square off against Saint Ignatius College Prep at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
