It's playoff time, and Mechanicsville had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top against the Eastern View Cyclones by a score of 45-36 on Monday. Winning may never get old, but the Mustangs sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Kate Carlton continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, putting up 20 points in addition to eight boards and three steals. She has become a key player for Mechanicsville: the team is undefeated when she posts at least eight rebounds, but 8-11 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Elizabeth Hardwick, who posted nine points and seven boards.

Mechanicsville now has a winning record of 12-11. As for Eastern View, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-16 record this season.

Mechanicsville won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Monacan at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Monacan is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.5 points per game this season. Eastern View does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
