Softball Recap: Illinois Valley Central Takes a Loss

Illinois Valley Central lost against Knoxville back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Grey Ghosts came up short against the Blue Bullets, falling 18-3. The Grey Ghosts have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Caitlyn Gillette made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with three RBI and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Abby Bazyn, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Illinois Valley Central's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Knoxville, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 9-5.

Looking ahead, Illinois Valley Central will host Galesburg at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Knoxville, they will head out on the road to face off against ROWVA/Williamsfield at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
