Softball Recap: El Segundo Has No Trouble Against San Marcos

El Segundo's tournament run continued when they took on San Marcos on Saturday. The El Segundo Eagles were the clear victor by a 14-2 margin over the San Marcos Knights. Considering the Eagles have won three matchups by more than 11 runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Jacy Lindsay looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off five hits.

At the plate, Carter Cswaykus and Marilyn McCaverty did most of the damage at the plate: Cswaykus went 1-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while McCaverty scored two runs while going 2-for-3. That home run marked the first that Cswaykus launched this season. Another player making a difference was Sullivan McLaughlin, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

El Segundo's record now sits at 5-3.

Coming up, El Segundo will host Palos Verdes at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Palos Verdes' pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so El Segundo's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for San Marcos, they have already played their next contest, a 9-4 defeat against Foothill on the 1st.
