Basketball Recap: Pace Skates Past Gulf Breeze with Ease

Pace won the last time they faced Gulf Breeze and things went their way on Friday too. The Pace Patriots simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Gulf Breeze Dolphins 49-18. Given the Patriots' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 237th, while the Dolphins are ranked 483rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

It was another big night for Grace Manor, who went 7 of 14 on her way to 16 points along with seven boards and five steals. She has been hot for a while, having posted four or more steals the last nine times she's played. Olivia Ikier was another key player, putting up eight points.

Pace was working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Gulf Breeze only posted one assist.

Gulf Breeze's loss came despite strong showings from Peyton Sharrett and Zoe Kalis. Sharrett posted four points, while Kalis had no points. That's the most points Sharrett has posted since back in November of 2024.

Pace's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-9. As for Gulf Breeze, they are on a 17-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-18.

Pace wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 53-50 win against Jay on the 13th. Gulf Breeze has also already played their next contest, a 48-36 loss against Crestview on the 13th.
